add a forum
We are currently wondering, if you guys would be interested in getting an old school forum (or message board, bulletin board, discussion board or whatever you name it). Just vote on this idea or comment to raise your concerns.

A forum would be great IMO, it would create a community.
I'd love to talk about tours and setlists here so +1 -

@Kittaan
You may upload scanned setlists to our facebook page's photo album (http://www.facebook.com/setlist.fm). At least you should be able to do so. If you don't have the necessary privilages (or no facebook account) you can still mail any setlist scans or photos to help@setlist.fm. We will upload it to our facebook page and might do even something cooler with it in the (near?) future. -

Hi folks. I'm brand new to this, so bear with me. I like the idea of a forum associated with a particular band, a specific leg of that band's tour and/or a specific concert from that band's tour. I could see it working in a variety of ways, and not sure which would be the most useful or effective.
What comes to mind immediately would be a place for people who attended a show to elaborate on the experience beyond merely the set list. I like the idea of keeping it simple and consistent for the actual set list entry. That makes a lot of sense. But I would certainly be interested in hearing from others who attended the show, or shows close in proximity, either before or after the show I attended, for various reasons. If you'd like me to elaborate, let me know.
I look forward to using the site more now that I've signed up. I typically hit a lot of shows, and occasionally I'm able to score an actual hard copy set list from a band member or sound guy. That is another suggestion - the ability to attach actual scanned set lists.

(1) The main purpose should be to centralize discussions on setlists and artists that are currently distributed all over the site. It would also be easier to talk about a tour of an artist or a festival. It might even be possible to put ongoing discussions on setlists - that are normally difficult to find - a little bit more in the spotlight.
(2) As we'd like to spend our time mainly on improving the site rather than moderating it, we'd definitely be looking for volunteers. However, I would estimate that the effort of moderating a setlist.fm forum isn't comparable with moderating the rest of the site.

Sounds nice, but I would have to agree with leglessmoof.

Seems like a good idea, but first I think these questions need to be answered:
(1) What's the purpose of the forum? In other words, what are people going to talk about?
(2) More importantly, who is going to moderate the forum?

Sounds like a good idea. I've already created the Setlist.fm group up over on Last.fm http://www.last.fm/group/Setlist.fm. Personally I think that'd be a forum maybe under used and feel a bit empty. I could of course be wrong. I think the Last.fm could work for a discussion area while helping to advertise the site over on Last.fm
