Your probably right that it may be the best source. Which is why I love this site.

well, integrating yet another data source isn't that easy. And if it comes to covers, I think we already have pretty good data. Especially if it comes to songs that were covered live, not on an album, I'd eve say that setlist.fm itself is the best available source out there.

As far as the covers idea. Maybe integrating with this site might be useful.

sfussenegger,
I love those ideas... especially ...
plays per year and tour
and
Covered by Artists.
What about :Most Covered Songs, Most Covered Artists, etc. -

YES YES YES ! The more stats the better. How about Stats based on a Time-Period.
For example : I want to know what songs have been played the most by Passion Pit in the last Month.
OR what song was played least (most obscure) by the Beatles from 1966-1968

Thanks for your suggestion. We are always looking for new statistics, but please try to be a little more precise. What statistics would you like to see in the future?
I once thought about adding statistics to each song: first and last played (rather facts than statistics), plays per year and tour, covered by artists statistics. What do you think about that?
