  2. ... add a field for notes for each concert listing; for instance, if I wanted to add my seat # or say that the sound sucked. Thanks.

  3. Well, for example, Pink Floyd's "Atom Heart Mother". It was performed numerous times before the album's release, it was then named "The Amazing Pudding". Should we put "The Amazing Pudding" in the setlist or should it be "Atom Heart Mother"?

if it’s the same song, it should be the same songname – with generally is how it’s named on the album. please read the comments in this thread for clarification

  4. Say, on the 1st of May a band plays 15 songs. On the 2nd of May they play 14 of the same songs and one new song. On the 3rd of May the play 13 original songs, yesterday's new one and another two ones.

So, the list should be like that:

    May, 1: <15 songs>

    May, 2: <1 song>

    May, 3: <2 songs>

  5. Some songs from more recent albums are added to the album, but others are not. I'm new to setlist.fm but I understand there is an automatic system in place for this, but allowing users to do this could speed it up.
This could possibly extend to a list of albums on each band's page, so that songs can be matched to this?

  6. Latin charsets are great for the Americas/Europe/Australia, but what about the rest of the world? Add support for Unicode! Musicbrainz will handle potential collisions (since MBID is used), and many artists there already have romanizations.

  9. This would probably require a redesign of the UI when adding songs, but I think it could save people a lot of time. Just like on iGoogle it would return a list of the artists songs, which could be pulled from other apps via the API for example iTunes or Last.fm. I think this could improve the site a lot, and make it more user friendly.

    Reguards,
    Kieran

  10. Would be nice to provide a syndication feed for artists. This way we can follow the tour, and be warned when a new setlist is posted.

  11. thought this could be an interesting idea for comparing setlists from a band you saw a few years ago to their setlist on their current tour or something, or comparing a show's setlist you saw with more current shows to see how they compare.. i dunno.

  15. Adding an @version tag, so that different versions of songs are listed under one name, but on the artist page are clickable so that people can see which version was played at a certain show. For example:

Incubus played their hit Drive in several forms: acoustic, a bass-driven remix, electric, piano-driven etc. If you would add it to a setlist with @version[bass remix] it would show up in the artist page as 'Drive', thus giving the songs the number of plays it deserves, instead of splitting it up or lumping it onto one pile. On the artist page, when clicked…

  16. I think we should consider restricting changes to artists, venues and dates. While there are some valid usecases for changing one of these attributes, changing more normally indicates a different gig, hence a new setlist.

    • Other date, other venue? Most likely another concert
    • Other artist, oder venue? Certainly another concert
    • Other date, other artist? Again, probably a different gig

Even changing one property could be restricted:

    • Other date? Probably postponed or simply entered wrong. There's rarley a reason to change it by more than a few days though.
    • Other aritst? Well, only makes sense for things like Dave Matthews Band…

  18. A great improvement would be for the original author of an edit or revert to have the ability to delete his/her edit or revert. In cases where an author doesn't enter the correct info the first time it would be better if the original author of the edit or revert can delete that edit or revert entry. In cases where the edit or revert is irrelevant this will tidy up the setlist page to only the relevant information.

  19. For example when a band does an instrumental jam. I know the @Tape tag could work for this, but that's supposed to be for PA music...

  20. Awesome site. But for older bands it is hard to go through a lot of their concerst because they are all on different pages. I wanted to find a typical Pink Floyd Setlist from the mid 70s, and I have to scroll through like 20 pages of concerts from the 80s, then 20 from the 90s. I'd like to be able to just pick "page 35" without having to go through pages 1-34.
